The prophets of the Old Testament are milestones along the road to Calvary. One way or another, they look forward to Jesus Christ. Sometimes, as with Isaiah, this is explicit and unmistakable. In others, like Obadiah and Nahum, the gospel connection seems distant and tenuous. Jonah is perhaps closer to the latter than the former.
